Select - Player Development Program (PDP) Overview

Our philosophy is to develop confident and intelligent soccer players through a unique style of coaching. This model is a player-centered approach to coaching, where the player comes first. All aspects of the game: technical, physical, tactical and game intelligence are developed in an integrated manner for greater transfer and result.

"We emphasize development over winning at all costs"

Teams are coached by licensed, experienced coaches.

    Selection Process -

Three or four evaluators per age group usually conduct the selection process with one of them assigned as head coach for that age. Players are evaluated on skill, attitude, and coachability.

    Team Formation

HSC makes every effort to keep the process as unbiased as possible and will notify the parents in a timely manner as to whether their player made the team or not. Players that are selected for teams need to indicate their acceptance of the offered position and are expected to follow the player commitment policy.

    The Season

Training - June to August twice a week training. September and October, twice a week training with Sunday Fall League games. November to mid January off (some groups participate in futsal). Mid January and February twice a week training. March and April twice a week training with Sunday Spring League games.

Tournaments - Select/PDP teams participate on average in 1-3 tournaments.

Player Time - The club's philosophy is to try to provide development players with the opportunity to play at least half the game. However, this may vary due to missed practice, attitude problems, injury, etc.
