Age Group - Team formation for Hillsboro Soccer Club is based upon age groups. US Youth Soccer sets age groups to help ensure fair and competitive play in youth soccer. Players are expected to Tryout in their appropriate Age Groups.
Selection Process - Three or four evaluators per age group usually conduct the selection process with one of them assigned as head coach for that age. Players are evaluated on skill, attitude, and coachability.
HSC makes every effort to keep the process as unbiased as possible and will notify the parents in a timely manner as to whether their player made the team or not. Players that are selected for teams need to indicate their acceptance of the offered position and are expected to follow the player commitment policy. Upon acceptance a minimum payment of 25% of registration fees ($187.50 for 2014-15) are required by June 1st.
Training - Teams are expected to train 11 months out of the year, a minimum of 3 days per week during the season.
Tournaments - Classic teams typically participate in 3 or 4 tournaments during the year. The tournaments are selected by the coach to suit the needs of the team.
League Play - It is typical for Classic teams to play in the most competitive leagues within the state association. Both Fall and Spring Leagues may have both Saturday and Sunday games.
Players are required to tryout again each year for the next Fall Season in May.

All players are responsible for purchasing their own soccer kits. The Classic Uniform will include 2 jerseys,1 short, 2 sock, training jersey, backpack and warm-up jackets and pants (see below), available for purchase through Tursi's Soccer Supply Store after tryouts.
